Superb centuries by Omar, Afzal

LAHORE, May 31: Fine centuries by Omar Javed and Afzal Shah helped Appolo Club defeat Punjab Club by 48 runs in the Major Javed memorial cricket tournament match at the Allama Iqbal Institute Ground on Saturday.

Umar and Afzal scored 154 and 134, respectively as Appolo, batting first piled up 398 for six in 40 overs. Umar hit 19 fours and one six.

It was his second consecutive century after the first he cracked against Victorious Club (104).

Afzal struck 13 fluent drives to the fence.

In reply, Punjab Club also resisted well but could only score a total of 350 before all were out in 37.3 overs.
