LARKANA, May 31: The speakers at a seminar, organized here on Friday by the Liberal Forum, urged the ruling as well as the opposition parties to fully support the devolution of power programme for the benefit of the people.

Speaking on the occasion, Larkana District Nazim Khursheed Ahmed Junejo said that the system was smoothly functioning before the general election. However, he added, a tug of war had ensued after the Sindh ministers began interfering into the affairs of district government by transferring government officers.

The inadequate funds placed at the disposal of district government had further created problems for the Nazims, he complained.

Mr Junejo said that the system could fully take roots in 15 years if allowed to work without interference.

Abdul Wahab Pandrani said that the government was trying to simultaneously enforce three systems as a result the people were suffering. Manzoor Kohyar said that had there been democracy in the world, there would have been no war.
