LAHORE, May 31: As the temperature rose to 43.4 C in the provincial metropolis on Saturday, Lahorites preferred to stay indoors during the afternoon, with roads and bazaars giving a deserted look.

However, weather pundits have forecast a thunderstorm with chances of rain for Lahore and Gujranwala divisions during the next 24 hours.

According to Met office sources, westerly system is likely to bring in sufficient moisture to cause light rain in Rawalpindi division and shower in Lahore and Gujranwala and Sargodha divisions, providing respite from sweltering weather.

Partly cloudy weather has been forecast for Faisalabad division and hot and dry for Multan, DG Khan and Bahawalpur divisions..—APP
