TOBA TEK SINGH, Sept 17: A lady doctor and a dispenser were transferred on Tuesday from Pirmahal THQ Hospital after relatives of a 14-year-old rape victim blocked Faisalabad-Multan Road over the issue of the medical examination of the girl.

The protesters also besieged the hospital for one hour.

District Healthcare Programme Director Dr Raja Nasar Ahmad and Kamalia DSP Saleem Warraich held talks with the demonstrators and on the demand of protesters lady doctor Saima Javed and dispenser Iftikhar Masih were transferred from the hospital.

Relatives of the girl told reporters that she was alone at home in Plot C locality of Pirmahal when accused Sajid Masih, who resided in neighbourhood, entered the house and allegedly raped her.

They alleged when she was taken to hospital for medical examination, Dr Saima Javed instead of examining her in hospital called the girl to her house and examined her in the presence of dispenser Iftikhar and also delayed the report.

The protesters allegedly tortured dispenser Iftikhar for favouring accused Sajid.

Later on the complaint of Zahoor Ahmad, Pirmahal police registered a rape case under Section 376 of the Pakistan Penal Code against the accused and arrested him.

On the demand of protesters, a medical board will re-examine the girl on Wednesday (today).

Meanwhile, Additional District and Sessions Judge Amer Habib on Tuesday fixed Sept 20 for hearing pre-arrest bail confirmation plea of three accused of raping a first year student.

Accused Asghar, Adnan and Hamid appeared on Tuesday before the investigation officer at the city police station and got their statements recorded.

According to the FIR registered by city police, arrested accused Ahsan and his accomplices kidnapped ‘N’ and gang-raped her on Sept 12 at Chak 150-GB where they also made a movie to blackmail her.

On the direction of Lahore High Court Chief Justice Umer Ata Bandial, District and Sessions Judge Chaudhry Mushtaq Ahmad continued inquiry into the alleged gang-rape case.

City police in its initial report submitted to the DSJ stated that samples of the girl had been sent to Punjab forensic science laboratory for test while DNA test of the victim and the arrested accused would also be conducted.

It added that three-day physical remand of main accused Ahsan had been obtained from the court of a judicial magistrate for investigation while statements of the girl and her witnesses were also recorded.

SUICIDE: A mother of five committed suicide over family disputes at Gojra on Tuesday.

According to villagers, Sakina Bibi, wife of police constable Abdul Latif of Chak 94 JB, had sour relations with her in-laws.

On Tuesday, she consumed poison and Gojra THQ Hospital doctors referred her to Faisalabad’s Allied Hospital where she died.
