KARACHI, May 30: The Fishermen Cooperative Society (FCS) on Friday suspended its two employees for alleged embezzlement of the commission amount and initiated an inquiry into the matter.

According to FCS sources, the action was taken by the acting chairman of the society, Abu Zar Mariwala, on the instructions of the Sindh fisheries minister, Sardar Manzoor A. Panwhar.

The initial investigation has shown that two watchmen of the Auction Hall were trying to pilfer the Society’s commission worth Rs0.3 million.

The minister has warned the Society officials not to indulge in corrupt activities so as to avoid stringent action.—APP
