NAWABSHAH, May 29: Activists of the Jeay Sindh Mahaz blocked the National Highway on Thursday at Qazi Ahmed and staged a rally against the construction of the greater Thal canal.

The protesters were carrying banners and raising slogans against the project.

Speaking to the participant, party chief Syed Zain Shah alleged Punjab for keeping control on the resources of Sindh. He said that thousands of acres of Sindh land was rendered barren because of water theft by Punjab.

He said that there was no value of federal parties as they maintain different policies in different provinces. He said Benazir Bhutto and Ali Mohammed Mahar got power after selling Sindh water to Punjab.
