While film distributors in Karachi cribbed about lacklustre Pakistani films released on Eid day that were totally overshadowed by the resounding success of Bollywood’s Chennai Express, the Punjab circuit told a different story.

Ishq Khuda, directed by Shehzad Rafique, has apparently done very well in Punjab and according to reports, just in the first week it had earned Rs11 million. This is good news for Pakistani film-makers. However, it’s time they started making films that did not cater to one or two circuits but to the whole of Pakistan.
