KARACHI, Aug 21: Bodies of two more young men were found on Wednesday in the vicinity of the same Surjani Town area where two missing Baloch youths had been found dead on Tuesday, police said.

Not only is the area same, but the killing pattern is also similar as all the four men were subjected to severe torture before being strangled. Also, paper chits mentioning their names were found in their pockets.

The police said that the bodies of the two new victims, both in their 30s, were found at a deserted place near a farmhouse on Hub Dam Road in Surjani Town.

The bodies were shifted to the Edhi morgue after medico-legal formalities at the Abbasi Shaheed Hospital.

“Chits found in their pockets mention names of Abdul Razzaq and Pathan Rahim Bux,” said DSP Khalid Abbas, the area’s sub-divisional police officer.

He said that the name of Abdul Razzaq, a resident of Lyari, was among missing Baloch persons, as his family had lodged an FIR regarding his disappearance. However, the police were not sure about the second victim, he added.

As private news channels ran the story of the two bodies, Razzaq’s family rushed to the Edhi morgue to identify the body.

“He is not my brother,” said Saeeda Sarbazi, a sister of missing Razzaq. However, she said, the body was beyond recognition due to severe torture. “After looking at the hands and legs, we still believe that the body is not that of my brother.”

She said that the chit found in his pocket did mention the name of Razzaq, but the victim was not her brother, who went missing on March 24 in Lyari.

Razzaq, a journalist by profession, originally hailed from Turbat. The victim, father of three, was associated with the Daily Tawar, an Urdu-language daily from Mastung, as a sub-editor.

Abdul Qadeer Baloch, the founder of the Voice for Baloch Missing Persons, an active body pursuing the issue of missing persons, said that his record did not carry the name of Pathan Rahim Bux.

He said that at this stage it would be premature to count the two victims among the missing persons. “We are still investigating it on our own but so far no authentic clue has been found to their identities.”

Only on Tuesday, two missing Baloch youngsters, who had allegedly been picked up by security personnel in Turbat last week, were found dead in Surjani Town.

The area police said that Muhammad Ramzan Baloch and Abdul Ghafoor Baloch, both in their 20s, were strangled and their bodies were found in the bushes along the Northern Bypass neighbouring Surjani Town.
