QUETTA, July 22: Two youths belonging to the Shia Hazara community died in an act of targeted killing on a busy road here on Monday. Two passers-by suffered serious injuries in the attack, police said.

Two gunmen on a motorcycle intercepted a taxi on Shahrah-i-Iqbal and opened fire at it, killing driver Shukrullah, 19, and passenger Ramzan Ali, 18.

Rescuers took the bodies and the injured to the Civil Hospital. The wounded, reported to be in critical condition, were later referred to the Combined Military Hospital because of lack of needed facilities at the Civil Hospital.

The scene of the incident was cordoned off by the law-enforcement agencies.

The taxi came under attack at a place where hundreds of people were busy shopping at markets.

A large number of the members of the Shia Hazara community have died in bomb blasts and targeted killings recently.
