Eminabad PS staff dismissed

GUJRANWALA, Dec 11: The staff of Eminabad police station, Gujranwala, has been dismissed for breach of duty on the directions of Punjab governor Lt-Gen Khalid Maqbool (retired).

The governor visited the police station a few days back to review the performance of the officials where Salamat complained that police had not registered a case against the kidnappers of her daughter. He was also informed that a citizen had been kept under police custody unlawfully.

The governor ordered the SSP to hold a departmental inquiry against the staff for taking disciplinary action.

SHO Zulfiqar Ali has been compulsory retired for negligence in duty while ASI Muhammad Akram has been dismissed from service for not registering the abduction case. ASI Zulfiqar Ali and Head Constable Siffat Husain have been dismissed for detaining a citizen illegally and for not maintaining police station record, respectively.

Constables Muhammad Khalid and Saifullah have been forfeited in two years approved services. Sub-Inspector Muhammad Riaz has been directed to record his statement before Kamoky sub-divisional police officer.

The SDPO will present reports of an inquiry to the Punjab Inspector General of Police within a fortnight.
