ISLAMABAD, May 21: Defending champions Asif Memorial and 10 others sides including fancied Diamond Club have qualified for the Super 12 stage of the ICA-PTV League Cricket Championship.

Asif Memorial had little difficulty in making the next stage as they won four of their five matches to collect 16 points from Pool A.

Diamond, runners-up last year topped Group B with 18 points as the League headed into its home stretch - 87 matches having been completed so far out of 96 that are to be played in the first phase.

Youngster remain the only team that have one leg in the Super 12 but have a bright chance of qualifying.

In the Super 12 stage that starts on May 28, teams will be divided into two groups of six each, who will compete again on a league basis, with the top four advancing to the semifinals.

The following are the sides to have qualified for the Super 12 (points earned in brackets): Pool A: CDA (18), Asif Memorial (16); Pool B: Diamond (18), Hasan Memorial (12); Pool C: XI Star (16), PBC (16); Pool D: NHA (16), CRA (16); Pool E: Punjab (18); Pool F: Rawal Town (16), Classic (12).
