20 train robbers held

SUKKUR, May 21: At least 20 train robbers involved in looting the Seven-up Tezgam near the Mando Dero Railway Station were arrested by the Sukkur police, said the DPO, Sukkur, Ghulam Shabbir Shaikh, while briefing newsmen on Tuesday.He said the police also recovered some looted goods.

He said we have established a strong network and soon will be able to arrest all train robbers who were involved in looting the Tezgam passengers.

He said two most wanted dacoits, 232 absconders and 13 proclaimed offenders have also been arrested during the last 15 days in the drive against anti-social elements in Sukkur.

The DPO said that the most wanted dacoits, Nazir Shah and Zulfiqar Mako, were arrested in a raid in which their hideout near Sukkur too was destroyed.

He said in the drive police had recovered two Kalashnikovs, 36 small weapons, and added that narcotics too were seized.
