NAWABSHAH, July 14: A man strangulated his teenaged daughter to death in the name of honour in his house in Afzaal Shah town in the jurisdiction of B-Section police station on Sunday.

Abdul Sattar Afridi, who was arrested by police, confessed to killing his daughter Aisha, 18, and said he had given her hand to his nephew Feroz Khan five months ago but she ran away with one Muneer Malikani and got married to him just a few days ahead of Rukhsati.

He said that he managed to get back his daughter through some notables of the area and tried his best to persuade her to marry Feroz but she refused stubbornly. He was enraged at her attitude and strangulated her to death with her dupatta, he said.—BoC
