PIA to refurbish A310, B747

KARACHI, May 21: The Board of Directors of the PIAC has approved refurbishment of A310 and B747 Combi aircraft to bring them in line with the 777 aircraft to be inducted in the PIA fleet in near future.

The approval was accorded at the board’s 272nd meeting held on May 19 and 20 with PIAC chairman Ahmed Saeed in the chair to review the results of ongoing policy of the airline aimed at providing more facilities and comfort to its valued passengers.

The meeting also approved Recaro seats for 777 aircraft.

The board was given a presentation on proposed sale of surplus inventory and disposal of used B747-200 and F-27 aircraft.

It was noted with appreciation that the performance of Engineering Department in improving the airline’s punctuality, technical reliability and bringing about savings.—APP
