Zindagi Gulzar Hai’s strong message running through the storyline reads something like this: Enjoy life at the moment rather than waiting for your next achievement or accomplishment to make you feel proud of yourself; and find a reason to make life beautiful.
The grand finale screening of Hum TV and Sultana Siddiqui’s directorial venture ZGH at Bahria Auditorium in Karachi was quite a star-studded affair.
The last episode of ZGH portrayed Kashaf (Saman Saeed) and Zaroon (Fawad Khan) in a depressive state of mind as they come to the realisation that maybe they are not ‘meant for each other’. As the story progresses, we see the apparently star-crossed lovers refusing breakfast, cursing each other for not taking the initiative to apologise among other things as they battle inner demons in an attempt to overcome personal turmoil and angst.
The emotional trauma stems from a single misunderstanding and erroneous assumption, but it can also set them apart. After taking Rafia’s (Samina Peerzada) advice, Kashaf takes the first step towards reconciliation to put their personal affairs back on track. It remains to be seen now how far she manages to accomplish the task.
Towards the end, the ‘confession’ scene between Kashaf and Zaroon in the backdrop of a lush scenic garden clearly implies and cements the main idea: only by narrowing the communication gap and doing away with mistrust can a relationship truly heal.
Both Sanam and Fawad elicited great onscreen chemistry with the imagination of Umera Ahmed and the magic of Sultana Siddiqui behind the camera, making Zindagi Gulzar Hai another blockbuster hit and adding yet another feather in the Hum TV cap after the success of Humsafar.
