KARACHI, May 20: A woman and man were killed when they were fired upon by some unidentified persons in the TPX police limits on Tuesday morning.

Police said Zakiya, 20 and Mehar Ali, 40, were standing at a bus-stop near Fisheries when they were fired upon by some people from a passing vehicle.

Police said both the persons suffered bullet wounds, and were rushed to the Civil Hospital where they were pronounced dead, on arrival.

Police said deceased Mehar Ali had killed one Rab Nawaz in Machar Colony some six years ago.

Mehar Ali’s brother Abdul Sattar lodged an FIR 126/2003 against four persons, nominating Munchi Khan brother of Rab Nawaz, Javed a former policeman, and two others.

SHOT DEAD: Unknown persons shot dead a young man and dumped his body in Kalakot early on Tuesday morning.

Police said a trussed-up body of a 28-year-old unidentified man was found at Gabol Road. The victim was shot thrice in the head, police said.

The body was shifted to Civil Hospital for postmortem examination.

SUICIDE: A middle-aged-man committed suicide in DHA late on Monday night.

Police said Mukhtar Ahmed, 58, was found hanging from the ceiling fan his home in Khayaban-i-Shamsheer, Phase-V.

Police said the victim was the owner of a petrol station on Nishtar Road, but was suffering from mental illness.

His body was shifted to the JPMC for postmortem examination, police added.

ACCIDENT: A young man died in a road accident in Bin Qasim Tuesday.

Police said the victim identified as Muslim, 23, was knocked down by an unknown speeding vehicle near Steel Town.

He died on the spot. The body was shifted to the Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre for postmortem examination.
