KHAR, April 27: The ANP, Bajaur chapter, will support Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Governor Engr Shaukatullah Khan’s father and independent candidate Haji Bismillah Khan for NA-43 constituency.

The decision was taken at a meeting of ANP Mamond tehsil chapter on Saturday chaired by Haji Khan Zameen Maskeen.

The participants showed great concern over the decision of the party’s local leadership not to field a candidate in the contest. “The decision to leave the seat uncontested in the backdrop of threats to party workers was uncalled for,” they said, adding the decision had disappointed the party workers.

“The party workers and candidates were facing threats across the country but it does not mean that the party will quit the election process,” they said.

“This is the right time to take a bold decision regarding support to likeminded and suitable candidate because we cannot remain neutral in the election process,” they said.—Correspondent
