Last week legendary folk singer Reshma was admitted to a hospital in Lahore after her blood pressure and blood sugar levels shot up alarmingly. She was taken to the hospital’s intensive care unit where till last reports came in she hadn’t fully recovered. Reshma is one of those artists that the Pakistani nation feels proud of. Her art is recognised all over the world. Apart from her memorable albums, radio, stage and TV performances she has also sung a song Lambi Judai for an Indian film in the ‘80s which met with unprecedented success. The government of Pakistan should take special interest in Reshma’s interest and do whatever it can to help her recuperate. We pray for her swift and complete recovery.
