MUZAFFARABAD, May 18: At least two persons were badly wounded on Saturday when a bag of firecrackers they were carrying in a wedding party exploded accidentally in Bashash village.

A police official told Dawn that Taufeeq Khan, 22, and Saghir Khan, 21, were injured when around 80 firecrackers in possession of one of them suddenly caught fire and blew up.

The explosions threw both of them some 15 feet away and they received serious burns and fractures.

According to the relatives of the injured, Saghir lost one eye and Taufeeq, both his eyes in the incident.

The victims were brought to the Combined Military Hospital.
