QUETTA: Militants on Monday torched three Nato containers in the Western Bypass area of Quetta.

According to the police, four militants on two motorcycles opened fire on the containers, causing the drivers to flee.

Police sources added that the militants then came close to the containers and set them on fire.

"Roaring flames of fire and thick black smoke could be seen from quite far away', Zainullah, an eyewitness, told Dawn.com.

The assailants escaped unharmed from the site of the incident.

Meanwhile, the containers were completely destroyed as fire-fighters reached late to extinguish the fire.

No human loss was reported since the drivers managed to escape from the spot.

Moreover, there was no immediate claim of responsibility until the filing of this report.

Militants have intensified their attacks against Nato supplies recently. This incident has come just a day after militants torched a container in the Dhadar area of Bolan district.
