LAHORE, July 7: A woman died after her husband allegedly pushed her off the roof of their house following a domestic quarrel in Kamboh Colony locality of Chuhng on Sunday.

Chuhng police said 22-year-old Saiqa Batool and Tanveerul Hassan married two years ago. They exchanged harsh words on Sunday before the suspect pushed down the woman. She was rushed to a hospital where she died.

Saiqa’s family alleged Hassan used to torture her over domestic issues and had even beaten her up before killing her.

Police shifted the body for autopsy and registered a case against Hassan and his parents on the complaint of the woman’s father, Ashraf.

Factory Area police said 20-year-old Muhammad Waseem was found murdered in Library Ground of Farooq Colony. Police suspected the victim was injected with poison, which led to his death. Waseem’s father, Muhammad Saleem, complained to the police his son had left the house two days ago and did not return. He added his son’s friend Chand Masih had called him outside that day.

Police shifted the body for autopsy and registered a murder case against Chand and his accomplices.

SUICIDE: A mother of five allegedly committed suicide following a domestic quarrel in B-Block, New Muslim Town, on Sunday.

Muslim Town police said they received a call from Sheikh Zayed Hospital about a woman who had died after being brought to the hospital by her husband. Police action would be taken after an application by the woman’s family, they added.

Police said the woman Zareena’s husband Salman told them his wife swallowed poisonous pills after quarrelling with him. The couple married 15 years ago.

Preliminary inquiries showed Zareena and Salman used to argue over everyday expenses and her brother Aslam used to help her financially. Police shifted the body for autopsy.
