Passengers beat robber to death

KASUR, May 16: Passengers beat to death a robber when his accomplice shot dead a rickshaw driver on Wednesday night in Bola Garhi village, Pattoki.

Police said Khushi Muhammad along with three passengers was coming back after selling vegetables in the wholesale market by his three-wheeler. Near Bola Garhi, two armed men signalled him to stop, but Khushi Muhammad tried to speed away. Upon this, the robbers opened fire, killing him on the spot. Meanwhile, passenger Ismail with the help of two others overpowered one of the robbers and thrashed him severely.

He also died on the spot. The deceased robber was identified as Ghulam Nabi of Renala Khurd, while his accomplice, identified as Kali, managed to escape from the scene.

Pattoki Saddar police have registered a case.
