Five arrested

PESHAWAR, May 16: Police on Friday claimed foiling a robbery bid and arrested five people.

A press release said the police foiled an attempt of robbery in Gor Mandi near Firdaus Cinema and nabbed five robbers.

The police party raided a hotel and arrested Noor Khan, son of Haji Raza Khan; Noor Shah, son of Mohammad Shah; Sajjad, son of Ghulam Mohammad; Ashiq Rehman, son of Saifur Rehman; and Niaz Khan.

Three pistols and rounds were seized from them.

Meanwhile, The Federal Investigation Agency (corporate circle) arrested a Hundi dealer on Thursday.

Officials said Mohammad Fiaz, son of Malik Sher Afzal Khan, resident of Darra Adam Khel, and seized Rs1 million, cheques and passports.

A case has been registered against him.
