Northern Areas jolted by 4.1 magnitude earthquake

ISLAMABAD: A moderate earthquake measuring 4.1 on the Richter Scale struck Chitral, Swat, Dir, and adjoining areas Saturday morning.

There is no immediate report of any casualty or damages.

The tremors sent a wave of fear and panic among the people. However, there is no immediate report of any casualty or damages.

Met. Department said that an earthquake jolted Swat, Chitral Dir and adjoining areas early in the morning. The epicenter of the quake was 43 kilometer north of Mengora at a depth of 10 kilometer, the department said.

Sources said that panic stricken people came out of their houses, but no loss of life and property was reported.
