MANSEHRA, June 27: A girl was critically injured on Tuesday after a black bear attacked her in Kundsari area of Bugermung union council.

Tajunnisa, 11, was attacked when she was grazing goats.

Local residents took her to King Abdullah Teaching Hospital but she was referred to Ayub Medical Complex, Abbottabad over critical condition.

Waliur Rehman, a local, said the bear attacks in the area were on the rise and that recently, a man was killed and two injured by a bear.

He criticised the wildlife department for failing to check the growing attacks by animals in the area.

The local resident said the people had stopped going to forests fearing bear attacks.
