DERA GHAZI KHAN, June 12: The Lahore High Court’s Multan Bench on Wednesday allowed JUI-F MPA Mir Badshah Qaisrani to go free after revoking the two-year imprisonment the sessions court had awarded him for having a fake degree.

The sessions court handed down two-year imprisonment to Mir Badshah Qaisrani, who was elected from PP-240, on the basis of a fake degree case registered on Feb 6, 2012. He had contested election under permission of the court.

On June 4, the MPA was arrested on court direction and sent to the Central Jail.

Qaisrani also obtained bail in three cases of violence, which were registered against him on the election day. He told Dawn that the police had let those who attacked him off the hook.
