LAHORE, May 12: The Labour Party held a protest demonstration outside the Lahore Press Club on Monday against the killing of a tenant of Okara military farms allegedly by the Rangers.

Carrying placards and banners, the demonstrators were demanding arrest of the killers of Amir Ali, putting an end to arrests of tenants and giving ownership rights to those cultivating the lands for about a century.

The demonstrators were led by advocate Shahtaj Qizilbash, tenants’ leader Aqila Naz, Labour Party secretary-general Farooq Tariq and Amir Ali’s nephew Khadim Husain.

The Labour Party and the National Workers Party are also holding a press conference on Tuesday (today).
