HYDERABAD, May 12: Four students of the Liaquat University of Medical and Health Sciences, Jamshoro, on Monday were injured in a clash between two groups of students, which disrupted academic activities.

The university transport also remained closed.

Sticks and fists were used in the clash resulting in injuries to Tariq, Adnan, Asif and Manzoor.

A minor clash had earlier taken place between the two students groups a couple of days back and one of the group had given a strike call for Monday, resulting in another second.

A heavy contingent of police reached the campus and brought the situation under control.

A case was registered with the Jamshoro police under section 147, 149, 337 and 504, PPC, against Abdul Hameed, Wasif Memon, Mehmood, Kashif, Dur Mohammad Brohi, Ashfaq Shah, Agha Ashfaq, Pervez Khwaja and 15 unidentified students.

Situation remained tense at the campus.

DEMO: A large number of people from Dad Khan Jarwar union council held a demonstration outside the press club here on Monday in support of UC Nazim Haji Nabi Bux Lund.

Speaking on the occasion, Maulvi Ahmed Khan Lund and others said that some disgruntled people had unleashed propaganda against the UC Nazim in furtherance of their nefarious designs.

The Naib Nazim of the union council had held a press conference a few days back, accusing the Nazim of corrupt practices.
