KARACHI, May 11: Karachi Port Trust (KPT) scored a thrilling one-wicket victory over A.J. Worldwide to top their group in the 12th HinoPak KCCA inter-firm cricket league at UBL Sports Complex here on Saturday.

Both teams however qualified for the quarterfinals with A.J. Worldwide finishing second in the pool.

Batting first, A.J. Worldwide made 221 for six in 40 overs with skipper Naved Khan (79 with nine fours) and former Pakistan wicket-keeper Javed Qadeer (66 with six fours) being the chief scorers.

KPT, in reply, reached their target in 39.4 overs after scoring 222 for nine. Ariz Kamal sparkled with 65 that included eight fours and one six while Wajihuddin contributed 52 with the aid of five boundaries.

Leg-spinner Mansoor Ahmed captured four for 69.
