SHANGLA: The Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Puran Tehsil Khan Bahadar Khan has been killed along with four other police officials in Paryana village of Shangla district, as his vehicle was targeted with a roadside bomb.

DIG Malakand Range Abdullah Khan confirmed that five policemen, including Bahadar Khan died in the attack.

The police force was on a routine patrol when the DSP’s vehicle was targeted with a remote controlled Improvised Explosive Device (IED) which destroyed the vehicle.

“I can confirm that DSP Khan Bahadar Khan, two guards, a driver and a special police offical has died and that it was a remote controlled roadside IED,” he replied when asked if it was a suicide attack.

Paryane village is along the border of Buner District.
