KARACHI, Dec 10: The Inspector-General of Sindh police, Syed Kamal Shah, has said training of private security guards at police training centres is under consideration.

According to a press release issued here on Monday, he was talking to a delegation of the All Pakistan Anjuman-i-Tajiran, Malir, Karachi, led by its President, Javed Aslam Khan, in his office.

The IG said it would be compulsory for private security agencies to get their employees imparted this training, which would be of 2-3 weeks. They would be imparted basic training on security.

He said all possible steps were being taken to provide protection to traders. These were constitution of a police-traders liaison committee, reactivation of the chowkidary system, police squad and increase in police patrolling, etc.—PPI
