KARACHI, May 10: Sindh Education Minister Irfanullah Marwat on Friday paid a surprise visit to the Government Baldia Primary Girls School, Mohammad Nagar in Landhi Town.

Observing the broken black boards, benches and doors and windows, he asked the headmistress if she got the SMC funds. She replied in the negative. On this, the minister ordered an inquiry against ADO and issuance of show-cause notice to him.

He said repair work would be started soon.

He also visited a shelter-less school in the area where he announced that a building would soon be constructed to house the school. Later the minister inaugurated a medical centre established by the Young Generation Welfare Association.—PPI
