QUETTA: The kidnapped former Advocate General Balochistan, Salahuddin Mengal reached his residence on Tuesday night.

Secretary General Balochistan Bar Association, Attaullah Langove confirmed to Dawn.com that the former AG reached his home.

However, he did not elaborate as to whether the former Chief law officer' s recovery was the result of paying ransom to kidnappers or law enforcerement conducting an operation for his recovery.

Gunmen picked up Mengal from Sariab road area of Quetta on April 3rd this year. Mengal spent more than one-and-half months in captivity.

Lawyers across the province boycotted courts and staged protest demonstrations to mount pressure on the government to ensure Mengal's recovery. Chief Justice Balochistan High Court, Qazi Faez Isa had also taken serious notice of the kidnapping.

The top judge of the province had strictly ordered law enforcement agencies to recover the senior lawyer unhurt.

A large number of members from the legal fraternity gathered at the residence of Mengal soon after his recovery.
