TIMERGARA, May 19: Two people hailing from Ekaghund area of Mohmand Agency were shot dead by unidentified attackers near Sacha Mira bridge on Saturday night. The incident occurred in the jurisdiction of Khall police station.

According to preliminary investigation by the police, the victims identified as Madamur Rahman and Mohammad Raees Khan were going from Khall to Timergara in a car (1479 Peshawar) when the assailants attacked them. The police said a service card of a naib-subedar of Khasadar force was recovered from the pocket of Madamur Rahman.

The Khall police said there was also a third person travelling with the victims in the car, but he was missing. Police also recovered a pistol from the car. The police registered a case and started investigation.

PPP DEFEAT: Former state minister for inter-provincial coordination Malik Azmat Khan on Sunday alleged PPP candidate for PK-94 and former provincial minister Mahmood Zeb Khan had struck a deal with the candidate of JUI-F to defeat him.

Malik Azmat, who lost elections on PPP ticket in NA-34, said in a statement he had informed PPP chairperson Bilawal Bhutto Zardari of the situation. He accused Mahmood Zeb of conspiring against him and the party.

He said he would expose all faces involved in party’s defeat in Dir as soon as Mr Bilawal returned to Pakistan. “I will soon convene a meeting of the disgruntled party workers in Dir and will inform them of the facts,” said Mr Azmat, adding the PPP had been the most popular party in the district but selfish leaders turned it into minority.

DEPARTMENT RECOGNISED: The Pharmacy Council of Pakistan has approved the Pharm-D (doctor of pharmacy) course and recognised the department of pharmacy of the University of Malakand.

The Malakand University’s pharmacy department is the third such department to be recognised by the council in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

The inspection team of Pharmacy Council of Pakistan visited the department the other day. The team was led by Nazirud Din Ahsan, secretary Pharmacy Council of Pakistan, according to a press release issued here on Sunday.

The team members also visited the eight laboratories of the department of pharmacy and other facilities like offices, classrooms, boys and girls common rooms and library which were declared according to the standards of the council.

The VC, University of Malakand, Prof Johar Ali congratulated the faculty members and students of department on the accomplishment of this milestone.
