QUETTA, May 9: Initial work has been started at the Iron Ore huge deposits at Dilband of Chagai district, and the project would start formal production in next two to three months.

The Managing Director, Pakistan Petroleum Limited (PPL), Munsif Raza disclosed this while briefing the Balochistan Chief Minister, Jam Mir Mohammad Yousaf on the project, here on Friday.

He said that it was the joint venture of Pakistan Petroleum Limited and Bolan Mining Enterprises (BME), and according to an agreement signed Pakistan Still would purchase the iron ore.

The managing Director PPL also informed the Chief Minister about the development activities being launched by both the companies for the welfare of the local people.

The Balochistan Chief Minister, Jam Mir Mohammad Yousaf while speaking on the occasion urged upon both the companies to provide 100 per cent jobs to the local people at the project and companies working at the project should have fulfilled the socio-economic requirements of the area.

He said that it was desire of his government that natural resources of the province should be developed and utilized for the over all development of the country and specially economic stability of Balochistan and in this regard provincial government was also taking all possible steps.

The Chief Minister said that Balochistan government was providing all possible facilities and incentives to the investors who were investing in the Province. He expressed the hope that PPL and BME would also launch joint ventures for the exploration and development of minerals in other areas of Balochistan.
