KARACHI: Barriers set up at Baghdadi

Published December 11, 2001

KARACHI, Dec 10: Barriers have been erected in some Baghdadi Union Council areas in the former District South to prevent the entry of goods carriers into the residential areas.

The barriers were built at the entry points of streets along the Embankment Road near Lea Market, Siddique Akbar Road and Miranpir in Moosa Lane and Madni Road.

UC Nazim Ghulam Abbas Baloch said the operation was taken on the persistent demand of the people who had got fed up with the movement of goods carriers in their localities and were repeatedly demanding shifting of transport business from residential areas.
