Anti-US demo held

JACOBABAD, May 5: The Muttahida Majlis-i-Amal took out a procession here on Monday, demanding withdrawal of US personnel from the Shahbaz Air Base, Jacobabad.

Led by Sindh Muttahida Majlis-i-Amal secretary-general Khalid Mehmood Soomro and raising slogans against the US, the participants of the procession emerged from the Amroti Chowk and marched through the main roads.

The protesters also staged a sit-in, blocking the roads for two hours.

Mr Soomro said Pakistan had provided logistic support to the US during the war against Afghanistan which was over now.

The protesters called for boycott of US goods.

Later the protesters put a US flag on fire.
