LAHORE, May 3: Four-year-old chestnut filly Aegean Daisy, who is in good form, should oblige her connections by winning easily during the Lahore Gymkhana Meeting at the Racecourse on Sunday.

She is appearing in the seventh and supporting event, the Mardan Plate class IV division I & II combined handicap race to be contested over the middle distance of 1400 metres.

This well-made daughter of English sire Ball Harbour out-of- Dizzydaisy was imported for a bargain price of pounds 3000.

 In her four outings todate she has been placed second twice and was beaten by stabelmate Dock Lands Drive, an Irish-bred filly over 1200 metres Sunday last. She is ideally placed in the handicap and should make amends this time.

The aged mare Perfect Timing and bay filly Dare To Dream should fight for second and third positions.

The feature event, the May Cup for class VII and division I to have gone over the sprinting distance of 1200 metres seems an open affair. Out of 14 contestants, at least six are on chance to win this event. They are Kargil Tiger, Sun Of Gold, Fair Boy, Love Moon, Al trui Princess and Iram State.

All are in form and racing fitness. If on job it should be an exciting event and picking winner may prove a difficult task.

 On handicap and classification Kargil Tiger, Al trui Princess, Sun Of Gold and Love Moon and should fight it out. This will be the sixth race of the day.

Bay horse King’s Best ran a good race over 1000 metres last Sunday. He looks poised to win again in the ninth and last race, the Larkana Plate class V division II to be run over 1200 metres. The field looks stiffer and distance 200 metres more this time but the way King’s Best rallied to win should make no problem to make it two in-a-row. The main challenge to King’s Best should come from Beena Roy Baby, Dahis Again and Aechoo.

Canwara, Red Rock and Morning Bird look good in the eighth race. Top weight Canwara though carrying a heavy impost of 9-2 may make amends for his defeat last time out over 1000 metres. He will be going over 1200 metres, the additional 200 metres suits him most.

Once again a card of nine races will be down for decision in the afternoon. Eight events will be going over 1200 metres while the supporting and seventh will be run over 1400 metres. The first race will start at 1pm.
