SARGODHA, May 3: Dacoits took away Rs3.5 million in cash and valuables from the house of two expatriates in Block No 13 on Saturday.

Four armed men forced their entry into the house of Haji Muhammad Masood and Hajji Umer Khitab at around 9.30am. After holding up the inmates, the dacoits collected Rs5,000,000 in cash and prize bonds, gold ornaments, a mobile phone, wrist watches and other valuables, worth Rs3.5 million.

After remaining in the house for an hour, the dacoits escaped with the loot.

Meanwhile, two people were killed by dacoits in the district during the last 24 hours.

Police said armed men intercepted a Rawalpindi-bound bus (No SI 4965) near Otian, some 20 kilometres from here, on Friday night.

They shot at and killed the gunman of the bus when he put up resistance. Later, they snatched cash and valuables from the passengers and escaped.

An employee of a pharmaceutical company was killed by dacoits near Chak No 40-SB.

Kirana police said the dacoits took away the motorcycle (No BRU 9654) of Imran Altaf after killing him.

Three armed men looted a filling station near Chak No 40-SB.
