5,000 bottles of moonshine recovered

SHIKARPUR, Dec 9: Police raided an illegal liquor factory and seized 5,000 bottles of locally-produced liquor labelled with different brands of English liquor, with fake government stamps, seals and documents, machines and chemicals from there.

Two factory workers were apprehended and the owner and another workers escaped here on Sunday morning.

A police contingent led by ASP City Saleem Arain, CIA in charge inspector Syed Zulfiqar Ali Shah and sub-inspector Nooruddin Khuhro raided the illegal liquor factory in old Saddar near Qayoom Mangi chowk.

Some policemen entered the factory scaling the walls and opened the gate for the others.

Seeing the police, the factory owner Ghous Bukhsh Mahar and his two workers slipped away jumping into the adjacent houses.

However, the brother of the factory owner, Liaquat, and a worker identified as Manzoor were arrested on the spot.

The police searched the factory and recovered 5,000 bottles filled with local liquor labelled with different brand names.
