Army, Wapda triumph

KARACHI, Sept 27 Army and Wapda thrashed their respective opponents in the two 7th All-Pakistan Nishan-i-Haider Hockey Tournament matches played at the Mutiullah Hockey Stadium in Bahawalpur on Sunday evening.

Army trounced Hyderabad 4-0. Waqas Zafar scored two (25th and 28th mins) while Safeer Hussain (50th min) and Mohammad Afzal (59th min) added one each for Army.

In the second match, a barren first 43 minutes of play were followed by Wapda totally outclassing Rahim Yar Khan 7-0. The goals for the winners were scored by Mohsin Bilal (44th and 46th mins), Asif Michael (48th min), Olympian Mohammad Shabbir (50th min), Mohammad Adeel (54th min), Rizwan Khan (59th min) and Olympian Sohail Abbas (62nd min).
