LAHORE, Feb 21: The Sui Northern Gas Pipelines Limited (SNGPL) on Thursday decided to restore gas supplies to the industry and CNG sector for two days, starting from Friday (today) in Lahore, Sheikhupura and Sahiwal regions.

According to the new schedule, the general industry in these regions would get supply from 6am Friday to 6am Sunday. In other regions (Faisalabad, Sargodha, Bahawalpur, Multan, Gujranwala, Gujrat, Islamabad and Rawalpindi), the supplies would be restored for Monday and Tuesday.

The company has also issued schedule for compressed natural gas supply and as per announcement, the stations in Lahore, Sheikhupura, Sahiwal, Multan, Gujranwala and Gujrat would start getting supply from Friday morning to Sunday morning.

The stations in Faisalabad, Sargodha, Bahawalpur, Islamabad and Rawalpindi would get supplies from Monday morning to Tuesday morning.

The CNG association has already rejected the two-day a week schedule, saying that no business can survive on eight days a month working. But most of the stations were, however, found selling gas during those two days (Feb 15-17) when supplies were restored to them.
