LAHORE, Feb 13: Tehrik Tahaffuz-e-Pakistan chief and nuclear scientist Dr AQ Khan called on PML-N President Nawaz Sharif at Jaati Umra here on Wednesday to offer condolence on the demise of Abbas Sharif. Dr Khan was accompanied by Admiral Javed Iqbal (retired) and other leaders of the Tehrik, while PML-N’s Sardar Mehtab Abbasi, Tariq Azim, Ahsan Iqbal and Captain (retired) Safdar were also present.

Dr Khan also visited Mansoora, Jamaat-i-Islami headquarters, and held a one-on-one meeting with JI chief Syed Munawwar Hasan.

Speaking at a reception there, the nuclear scientist said he had decided to join hands with the JI for building the country as a truly Islamic welfare state and to free it from the clutches of corrupt people.

Mr Hasan said aims and objectives of the JI and Dr Khan’s Tehrik were the same as both wanted the country to emerge as a prospering Islamic welfare state.
