LAHORE, Feb 6: The Punjab Teachers Union has expressed its concern over district coordination officer’s harsh attitude towards teachers and threatened to boycott the class-VIII examinations.
In a statement issued here on Wednesday, PTU leaders said the teachers serving in Lahore district were performing better than any other district but DCO Noorul Amin Mengal was humiliating teachers in monthly District Review Committee meetings.
PTU leaders Syed Sajjad Akbar Kazmi, Rana Liaquat Ali and others demanded that the three deputy district education officers surrendered to the secretary (schools) should be reinstated at their present postings within 48 hours.
They said the school education department’s teachers in Lahore had been showing 90 per cent attendance and good results despite the fact that they were given neither transport facilities nor other resources and instead performed many duties besides their regular duties.
