MULTAN, Jan 15: Auditor General of Pakistan (AGP) Akhtar Buland Rana on Tuesday said his office recovered approximately Rs 200 billion annually across the country.

Talking to the media at Military Accounts Office, he said the AGP was responsible for presenting its reports to parliament as it was answerable only to the House.

To a question about action against irregularities, he said parliamentary committees had taken action and the AGP’s job was to ensure transparent utilisation of the public money.

He said the AGP audited all departments, including the Supreme Court.

To another question about audit of the forces, he said it was transparent as it used an authentic audit system. — APP
