QUETTA, Jan 4: Two brothers received bullet wounds when gunmen opened fire on them in Sariab road area on Friday.

One of the brothers is a prayer leader in a mosque.

Police said that armed assailants on a motorcycle opened indiscriminate fire on the brothers near Wapda office, resulting in serious injuries to the two. The attackers managed to flee from the scene.

Maulana Israr Ahmed and his sibling Ikhlaq Ahmed were rushed to the Sandeman Civil Hospital.

Doctors said the injured were out of danger.

Police believe sectarianism to be the reason for the attack.
