PESHAWAR, Dec 28: Many areas of Peshawar remained without power on Friday due to a major technical fault.

According to consumers, the power supply was suspended at 6am on Friday and could not be restored till 9pm which caused immense problems for the people. Shortage of water in Gulberg, Swato Phatak, TV Colony, Manakrao and New Gulberg troubled residents who repeatedly tried to contact the Pesco staff but to no avail.

An official of Peshawar Electric Supply Company Adnan Khan told Dawn that line staff was trying to restore the power supply but they could not detect the fault. He said incessant rainfall also created problems for the staff.

“We repaired some lines and checked the supply cables but it seemed that fault was with a pole which cannot be removed till Saturday,” he said.
