PML-Q forward bloc MPA Sheikh Allauddin complained to the house that commercialism was on the rise in the Punjab University.

“The administration has turned the varsity’s new campus into a marriage hall and nobody is bothered about it,” Mr Allauddin deplored.

The speaker, however, disposed of Mr Allauddin’s privilege motion.

Meanwhile, three call attention notices were tabled to draw the house’s attention to the deteriorating law and order in Punjab.

Law Minister Rana Sanuallah said a case had been registered against the ASI responsible for the murder of the conductor, Asif.

PPP’s Sajida Mir sought detail of the police investigation into the murder of an ASI outside the Chuhng training centre. Sana said it was not ‘target killing’ as the investigation was underway.

PML-Q’s Khatija Omar said Gujranwala board’s superintendent was killed by robbers. Sana denied he was killed by robbers, saying the killers had not taken away anything from the victim and his wife.

During Question Hour, the financial health of the Bank of Punjab was discussed. Parliamentary secretary Abdul Waheed said bank recovery of Rs73 billion was underway.
