Man killed in blast

QUETTA, Dec 10: One person died and two others, including a prayer leader, were injured in a bomb explosion in the Sariab road area on Monday.

Police sources said the remote-controlled bomb had been planted near the shop of a blacksmith in Kachi Baig area on the outskirts of the provincial capital.

The deceased was identified as Imdadullah. The injured were Hafiz Abdul Rashid Sheroodi, a prayer leader and brother of a former JUI-F minister Hafiz Hussain Sheroodi, and Zainul Abedin.

Meanwhile, a soldier of the Pakistan Coast Guards was injured in an armed attack on Nalent check-post in Gwadar on Monday.

The banned Baloch Liberation Front claimed responsibility for the attack and said eight personnel had been killed.—Staff Correspondent
