LAHORE, Nov 20: Deputy Prime Minister Chaudhry Pervaiz Elahi announced on Tuesday that Sajid Husain Chattha and Chaudhry Adil Bakhsh Chattha would be PML candidates from NA-101 and PP-103, Gujranwala, in the coming general elections.

On the occasion, former PML-N MPA Haji Shaukat Hayat Chattha called on Mr Elahi at his residence and announced joining the PML-Q.

Mr Elahi said: “We do the politics of principles. Once we agree to support someone, we do not let him down.” He said the candidates of the PML-Q and the Pakistan People’s Party would wipe out Nawaz League from Punjab in the next elections.

He said in his tenure as the chief minister he had established a cardiology hospital in Wazirabad as a gift for the adjoining districts, but vindictive politics of the N-League did not allow it to be functional.

Adil Bakhsh Chattha said: “We have been opposing Hamid Nasir Chattha since 1997 and will do so in the future as well. Under the patronage and leadership of Shujaat Husain and Pervaiz Elahi, we will work together in Gujranwala district and further strengthen the party.” — Staff Reporter
